While still much better than the 43,233 industrial Covid claims filed in December 2020, the 2,581 claims filed in July 2020 mark the first increase in claims monthly since January.
This does appear to line up with CA having dropped the mask mandate for vaccinated individuals in June 2021 - which ultimately led to many vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals appearing in public settings mask-less.
We do continue to see many employers continue to require masks for their employees, regardless of vaccine status. Combined with vaccinations, hopefully the trend of industrial Covid claims will have been a slight spike that goes back on the decline.
